Celebrating Academics, Athletics and the Arts
Unlike any other event leading up to the Final Four, HBCU HEROES includes a community component providing 4 clinics to serve a projected 300-500 at-risk youth and 100 HBCU student-athletes. Our goal is to create a pipeline of at-risk youth to benefit from high-quality introductions to sustainable pathways that will positively impact their futures.
Spearheaded by former WNBA player and professional coder Niesha Butler, this clinic is an introduction to the fundamentals of these disciplines. We will create a pipeline of young bright minds who can be groomed for HBCUs and life-changing career paths.
STEM/cybersecurity/coding clinic:

Spearheaded by UNC-Chapel Hill basketball legend and NBA veteran George Lynch, HBCU student-athletes, and current/former professional athletes. The focus will be on intensive drills and training activities to further develop peak athletic performance.
Sports Clinic:

Spearheaded by world renowned saxophonist and Clark Atlanta Univ alumnus, Ryan Kilgore. Mentoring begins here for students interested in being life-long musicians. This clinic will focus on different career paths in music. Celebrity guest will also participate as judges.
Music Clinic:

Spearheaded by a financial advisor, this clinic will ensure that student-athletes' hard work pays off beyond their playing years!
